JH Staalindustri manufacture and supply the Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger.The Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger is used for heating or cooling of high viscous products. These products may also contain particles as berries, nuts, etc., up to 30 mm.
The Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger ensures a relative low pressure drop of high viscous products and is therefore a safe choice when the plate or tubular heat exchangers no longer is sufficient.
The Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger can with advantage be used in combination with a plate or tubular heat exchanger in the first part of the heating process or the last part of the cooling process where the product in many cases will have a higher viscosity.
The Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger can be cleaned automatically and therefore hygienic.

Function description:
The Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger consists of a rotor on which knives in two parallel or offset rows are placed in the whole rotor length. The rotor is enclosed in a larger cooling / heating cylinder. The blades will during rotation be in contact with the cooling / heating cylinder surface and thereby scrape the product off the surface. This scraping process will increase the heat transfer with result of a relatively quickly temperature change of the high viscous products.Depending on the product the scraper blades are made of peek or stainless steel.
The Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger is manufactured in different cylinder diameters, each with a variety of rotor diameters. This allows the product annular space to be designed to match the size of particulates contained within the fluid.
Depending on the task the Rotapro scraped surface heat exchanger can be supplied vertical or horizontal standing. If multiple tubes are needed to meet the desired capacity, the total number of cylinders will be delivered as a unit including the control valves and motorstarter.
